The Café @ St. Stephen’s is another gathering spot for the community. It opened in late 2018 and offers the full array of espresso drinks as well as freshly-brewed coffee and tea, made-to-order smoothies, healthy breakfast and lunch menus, snacks, and suppers-to-go. During the pandemic, we’ve improved our online ordering options, added curbside service, and increased our outdoor seating. We’re grateful to be able to offer this as an inviting place to gather safely, whether for a Bible study, a mothers morning out, a business meeting, or an after-school snack. The café, like the market, is a source of freshly prepared food for our food pantry clients. When you support the café, you support the pantry! The café pages of our site are here, and the online ordering platform is here. | The Farmers Market @ St. Stephen’s was founded in 2009 to provide a place for our neighbors to shop for nutritious, local food, while supporting small farms and businesses and reducing our carbon footprint. Another goal was to encourage community—and we’ve succeeded! The market is open every Saturday year-round—from 8 a.m. until noon during the warm-weather months, and from 9 a.m. until noon in the colder months. During the pandemic, this outdoor market has provided a way for businesses to continue in tough economic times, while shoppers pick up groceries in a safer environment than a crowded grocery store. We’re also proud of the relationship between our market and our food pantry program for those who struggle with food insecurity; generous vendors donate unsold produce and prepared foods to the pantry. Visit the market pages of our Web site for information about vendors, how to become a vendor, what’s in season, how to volunteer, and much more. |
May Fair House |
||
The May Fair House is a food and gift shop run by volunteers with the Women of St. Stephen’s and is known for its comfort-food casseroles, sides, and desserts, as well as an ever-changing array of wonderful merchandise. It’s the perfect place to buy a gift for a new baby, a graduate, a bride or groom, a host, or someone being baptized or confirmed. Proceeds make it possible for the Women of St. Stephen’s to award outreach grants totaling $30,000 to $50,000 each year. During the pandemic, May Fair House has introduced online ordering here, and curbside service for May Fair House dishes. Visit the May Fair House pages of our site to learn more about those dishes, when the shop is open, how to reach the volunteer staff, and more. |
